HOW MANY BTUs IN AN OUNCE OF CONCERN?

In Ontario, our politicians point the finger....
Ontario's energy minister Bob Chiarelli says he's concerned.
"I understand how difficult this shortage has been for many families and businesses in Eastern Ontario...My office has been in touch with the Canadian Propane Association who issued a release the other week to assure customers these disruptions are expected to be short-term issue only and we are continuing to monitor the situation."

In Kentucky, they actually do something.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Supply problems in several states where propane is a crucial heating source have prompted governors and other officials to take action against vendors, investigate claims of price gouging and increase aid to low-income customers.

  1. You can bet your arse that if the propane shortage was affecting a welfare project or an Indian reserve old fart-sucking Chiarelli would be calling in the troops.

  2. If ever there was an industry hell bent to destroy itself it would be what has happened with propane since late November.
Does the Canadian Propane Association really think people will be caught again in a clusterf*ck of a mess of first no supply...tanks dry and waiting days or weeks at -30 for a partial fill up witht prices escalating every damn day?
Lots of plan "B" planning going on.....
As for the Wynne Liberals....they think it is funny that capitalist conservative rural types are freezing....looks good on us!

    1. I see on the 6 o'clock evening news (CJOH Ottawa) that Boob Charelli has managed to get himself back hiding in the long grass with passing the propane fuel supply/price problem off on the Federal Minister of Energy Joe Oliver....
If you take the Canadian Propane Association at "their" word that the issue is "transportation" then that is a provincial jurisdiction not federal...."Charelli" old Glengarry word for shit for brains.

    2. God bless our regional differences. Around here, it means chicken shit. We say: "Hey kids! Grab some shovels and the wheelbarrow and clean that henhouse right now! The Charelli is six inches deep and the ammonia is almost toxic!"

  4. I can't believe the free ride the press is giving the politicians on this. The National Energy Board permitted the export of reserves and the provinces were aware but did nothing. I bet it is because the press, the Ontario Liberals and the NEB are all embarrassed about parroting the "mild winter" lines. It is probably honour among thieves. "let's not bring this up and embarrass ourselves"

  6. Thank you for this blog post! Especially the point about talking like you are having a conversation is something I really need to adjust on my site. I looked at my site and it is lacking on that point. I don’t have a blog but an informational site but it’s still very useful.
