DON'T WORRY, WE'LL GET AROUND TO IT

Think about buying stock in grain storage companies.
Why?
Well, if the railroads don't move the damned grain, the mill customers are going to find an alternate source. And they won't come back. Once burned, twice shy, ya know?
So, this "temporary constipation" will turn into a chronic glut as buyers lose confidence and Canadian farmers lose market share.

  1. No mention of crude oil tank cars hogging the rails, eh? (http://business.financialpost.com/2013/02/22/demand-for-tank-cars-to-ship-crude-oil-by-rail-rises-at-breakneck-speed/?__lsa=265d-f61f)

    1. It is just so hard to figure out what's really happening. If CN is closing sidings and restricting the number of rail cars, there is some kind of economical/political reason to it. It might be kind of a solidarity thing with its recently-departed CWB brothers, it may be a push for more fed funding, or it may be one of a hundred other reasons that I can't think of, but believe me, it isn't just coincidence.

    2. Right you are Kodiacmac. The Prime Minister wants to break the power of the crazy enviro lobby. But indirectly. So he orders the railroads to ship oil, not grain. Make a big mess. Show the people that if oil doesn't go by pipeline, we plug the railroads and screw up the system. Subtle, but effective. Poor old prairie farmer foots the bill in the meantime.
