  2. My dad's mantra for eliminating rats around barns and grain bins: clean up any source of "free food" (spilt grain, feed, etc.). So long as "$45,000 spent on the car and driver" is possible, we'll never be rid of rats.

  3. Byfield had a great piece in the EdSun a few weeks ago that pointed out the same behaviour among Redford's rats who were deserting her sinking ship. As he pointed out, the disassociation had nothing to do with ethics or principles. It was just scurrying for higher and dryer ground.
