Lorne nailed my thoughts exactly when I started reading these horseshit comments about vigilantism in the news. We're not talking about lynch mobs seeking justice outside the law. It's about self-defense; it's independent security; it's a deterrent. The more criminals realize that rural homes represent a hazardous place to mess with, the lower the incidence of rural crime. I'm not a hunter. My firearms are for varmint control - I don't care how many legs they walk on.
