  1. There are 2 things to be considered when it comes to unwinding supply management. Firstly, the politicians have to be sure that they won't jeopardize their own cushy jobs by starting the dismantling process. Secondly, it has to be done in such a way as to not have the taxpayer on the hook for the quota values . Devaluation could be done over time avoid calamity. Finding the political will is the tough part, politicians being the self serving lot they are.
