Mr. Trudeau sent the message at the first meeting of Liberal MPs that principal secretary Gerald Butts and chief of staff Katie Telford are his inner circle and that they speak for him, a Liberal source told The Hill Times. In interviews last week, Liberals described Mr. Butts, a close friend of Mr. Trudeau since their McGill University days, as the most influential staffer in the party who looks after the “big picture issues.” Most said he’s “respected” within the party for his “professional” handling of policy, and political issues, but some described him as “PMB,” as in Prime Minister Butts because of his strong influence on Mr. Trudeau.
Butts, cut his teeth in Ontario, with green energy policy ruination on how to tank an economy. The same sort of financial disaster soon to be spread across the rest of Canada in the form of windmills and solar panels. Forward!
