Wynne's Liberal Ontario government plans to phase out natural gas for home heating conflicts with their promise for rural gas infrastructure expansion. You can't have it both ways. The proposition was spelled out in a document on the government's proposed Climate Change Action Plan that was leaked earlier this week. Speculation has it the information may have been leaked as a guage of people's reaction - a trial balloon. It's time for Ontario's farmers and rural residents to get out the ack-ack guns. It's time for all the farm organizations to finally acknowledge that this Liberal government holds rural Ontario in absolute contempt. Get off your arses and fight for your own existence.
Rather than fight the policy, farm groups will love the idea of "transition funding" toward the low-carbon economy (poverty through dependency).
