The long-awaited trial of Jacques Corriveau is set to begin Monday afternoon at the Montreal courthouse, 11 years after the Gomery Commission first named him as an important player in the sponsorship scandal that saw millions of dollars pocketed by advertising and design firms — as well as the Liberal Party of Canada — in the name of national unity.
